What will you learn?
Site leaders have a vital role to play in creating and maintaining a positive worksite culture. As role models, you serve as examples of the values, attitudes, and behaviors expected and encouraged on your worksite. Shaping positive worksite behaviour – your own and the behaviour of others – is one of the most important and powerful responsibilities of leadership.
Builders Code training will show you practical ways to build a positive site culture and ensure everyone on your worksite is safe and protected, working to their full potential. An inclusive company culture translates to better productivity and safety outcomes and can help attract and retain the best workers.
In this FREE, one-day workshop, you’ll explore topics that include the nature and impact of unacceptable worksite conduct; how to enable and encourage an acceptable worksite culture; the tools that can be used to build that culture; and the benefits of doing so.
Companies whose management teams complete the training can use their Builders Code training certification to promote their company and culture to potential employees, as well as clients.
Course Material Covers:
- Defining an Acceptable Worksite Culture
- The Benefits of an Acceptable Worksite Culture
- The Nature and Impact of Unacceptable Worksite Culture
- Key Barriers to Acceptable Worksite Cultures and Conduct
- Tools for Building Acceptable Worksite Cultures
- Planning for Success
What is the Builders Code?
The Builders Code sets a standard code of conduct for workers on construction sites in BC. It defines an “Acceptable Worksite” as the starting point for reducing risk and ensuring a safe and productive environment for all workers. The Builders Code is intended to help construction employers communicate a reasonable, consistent behavior expectation to improve the safety, productivity and retention of skilled tradespeople, and reduce project risk. Builders Code training has been developed by experienced training providers in partnership with project partners including BCCA, the Industry Training Authority (ITA), WorkSafe BC, and the Minerva Foundation of BC.
