Indigenous relationships in development are currently more important than ever for several key reasons, reflecting ethical, environmental, social, and legal dimensions. Kim is a healthcare professional turned social entrepreneur who founded Culturally Committed, a community-led initiative promoting cultural safety and reconciliation. Since 2014, she has worked alongside Indigenous communities on Vancouver Island, driven by relationships, mentorship, and a commitment to learning and unlearning. Through education, advocacy, and a new Learning Management System developed with the Coast Salish Nation, Kim helps others take meaningful action beyond performative allyship. She continues to practice as a dental therapist with the First Nations Health Authority and sees reconciliation as a lifelong journey.
