Communication, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution

For supervisors, project managers, and anyone who must deal effectively and professionally with employees, subtrades, owners, clients, engineers, and employers. This course will help you improve your written, oral, and negotiating skills and enhance your conflict resolution skills.

By the end of this course you will learn how to:

• Overcome communication barriers
• Communicate clearly using a variety of methods
• Apply communication skills to lead a meeting
• Define a conflict
• Identify the stages of conflict
• Apply assertiveness techniques to help people understand your point
• Work with difficult behaviours more effectively
• Describe the criteria for an effective negotiator
• Describe how power can be used or abused in negotiation
• Identify when to close negotiations

• Course content contains interactive elements, scenarios, videos, and quizzes to reinforce learning
• About 5 hours of self-paced instruction
• A final mark of 100% is required in order to receive a certificate of completion. The final test will be multiple-choice, and if you don’t succeed on your first attempt, you can continue to re-take the test until you pass. Your course completion certificate will not be released until you successfully complete the final test with a score of 100%.
