VIHA one of seven to win BCCA's Award for Excellence in Procurement

BCCA Awarde for Excellence in ProcurementThe Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) has been named one of seven organizations to win a B.C. Construction Association (BCCA) award for excellence in procurement.

It’s the first time the association has handed out awards for procurement, but association president Chris Atchison said it was time.

“Standing out for procurement professionalism amid the hundreds of public projects underway in B.C. is a significant achievement,” he said, adding that with contractors currently in high demand, procurement professionals are the key to successful project delivery.

The health authority was recognized for a variety of initiatives, including its use of electronic-bid submission, providing easy access to bid documents through B.C. Bid and BidCentral, and its response times to bidder inquiries.
