VICA Members walk away as winners from VRBA's CARE Awards

Canada’s finest West Coast homes were celebrated at the 2017 Construction Achievements and Renovations of Excellence (CARE) Awards of Vancouver Island on September 29th at the Fairmont Empress Hotel.

More than 50 awards were presented at the 26th annual event attended by almost 300 builders, renovators, designers, trades, and suppliers – all members of the Victoria Residential Builders Association (VRBA), a Vancouver Island Construction Association partner. “The CARE Awards highlight Canada’s finest West Coast homes and the skilled people behind them,” says Casey Edge, Executive Director, VRBA.

Many VICA Members were in attendance at the annual awards ceremony, and a few walked away a little bit taller.

Story Construction was awarded Best Commercial Project for Backfit Clinic, while MGM Mechanical took home the title of Best Trade. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Gordon Denford, founder of Berwick Retirement Communities and Denford Construction Management Ltd for industry vision and success developing outstanding retirement communities.

“Congratulations to the Gold CARE Award winners and finalists for their leadership in sustainable West Coast design and construction,” says Maurizio Conforti, Chair of the 2017 CARE Awards.
