VICA members' generosity supports families in the communities we work and live in

Thank you to everyone who came out to the 2017 Christmas Luncheon and generously donated money to the Change Challenge and the 50/50 pot. Because of your support, on December 19th, we were able to donate $10,000 to families in need in the communities we work, live, and play in — that's $2,500 more than last year!

In collaboration with principals at five inner-city schools in Victoria and Nanaimo, we distribute $50 grocery gift cards to those who could use a little help during the holiday season, and throughout the year. These principals are our feet on the ground when it comes to knowing who could use a hand and when, staggering the gift card distribution to offer support in the months when donations can be dismal. The recipient elementary schools include Ruth King Elementary, Tillicum Elementary School, George Jay Elementary, Oaklands Elementary, and Georgia Avenue Elementary School. 

Year after year, we're told about the tremendous impact these grocery gift cards have on the lives of the families who receive then. Thank you, again, for your generosity. Happy holidays to you and your loved ones!
