Houle Electric Donates Generously to Cerebral Palsy Association of BC's Bursary Program

Houle team members; Adrienne Bartlett, HR Coordinator and Linda Flegel, HR Strategic Change Project Manager represented Houle at the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC’s Life Without Limits Gala at Vancouver’s Sheraton Wall Centre. Proceeds from the fundraiser provide financial assistance for students with cerebral palsy to attend a post-secondary institution of their choice.

Houle received enormous gratitude and appreciation for its contribution of $4,000 to the bursary program, significantly improving students’ chances for a successful post-secondary career.

Houle’s involvement with the association and this recent fundraiser was initiated by Houle Victoria Regional Manager and Board of Directors Member, Ross McLean, and was approved by CEO Robert Lashin. The Vancouver Island Construction Association is proud to see its members helping out in the communities they construct in.

New BC Building and Plumbing Code

The new BC Building and Plumbing Code will be effective December 10, 2018 and will apply to building permits applied for on or after that date. The BC Fire Code is anticipated to be adopted in the fall of 2018 and effective December 10, 2018. Buildings with permits in place under the previous 2012 BC Building Code will generally not be affected by the adoption of the new code.
