Industry volunteers needed for Carpentry, Automotive & Welding programs at SIP Camosun

This August, the South Island Partnership at Camosun College Interurban, is hosting three summer programs for students in grades 8 to 10. These programs are full with students excited to learn about Carpentry, Automotive and Welding.

They are currently reaching out to industry partners, including VICA and our members, to see if anyone is able to volunteer their time to work with the students, speak about their experience in the industry, and help provide an amazing exploration opportunity for the keen youth. Specifically, they are looking for volunteers to help out with hands-on activities for the welding program. You can volunteer for a morning, an afternoon, or a full day — whatever your schedule allows!

  • Carpentry: August 13-17 from 9:00am - 2:30pm
  • Welding: August 13-17 from 9:00am - 2:30pm
  • Automotive: August 20-24 from 9:00am - 2:30pm

If you would like to volunteer and/or are interested in more info, please contact Nicola Priestley at
