Help us make payment delays a thing of the past.
Everyone involved in Canada's construction industry knows the negative impact that payment delays have for subcontractors, suppliers, and tradespeople. The Canada Prompt Payment Act, Bill S-224, has recently passed the Senate and will now be considered by Members of Parliament. The legislation will affect federal government projects, while setting an important precedent for all jurisdictions to follow suit.
Bill S-224 has the support of the National Trade Contractors Coalition of Canada (NTCCC), supplier groups, labour organizations, and the Vancouver Island Construction Association.
It is important that our local Members of Parliament get the message that this law needs to be passed. NTCCC has developed an easy site for all supporters to send a letter to their home MP and we hope you will send a letter to support the process of making payment delays a thing of the past. Send your letter at www.promptpayment.ca.
