Another Brick In Nepal (ABIN) continues work on Sharada School in Aapchaur
Now that monsoon season is finally over, work is able to continue on Another Brick in Nepal's (ABIN) second project: the Sharada School in Aapchaur. The foundation is complete, the rebar is tied in place for the first floor columns, and work has begun on the walls.
Many VICA members have supported ABIN in their efforts to rebuild Nepal with the support of the local community. This includes:
- Canpro Construction
- City of Langford
- Draycor Construction
- ICL Concrete
- Kinetic Construction Ltd.
- Knappett Projects Inc.
- Scansa Construction
- Slegg Building Materials Ltd.
- West Rock Construction Ltd.
On October 16th, nine members of ABIN are travelling to Nepal to visit Sharada, as well as ABIN's previous project.
The ABIN Board is made up of a group of like-minded people living on Vancouver Island. Rob Tournour, of VICA Member Rob Tournour Masonry, started the organization with his wife Sumitra Tornour, Randy Jones, and Alana Jones.
