The annual WiC Powerhouse Panel is back!! This year's theme, Succession: Her Story.

Our first event of 2020 features an inspiring panel of female leaders focusing on succession in family businesses and creating a new narrative for their companies. Our three panelists will share their views on how to establish a new norm for women successors, along with the challenges and rewards that go along with continuing a legacy.

OUR PANELISTS:

  • Karen Jackson – CCM Construction Ltd.

    Karen Jackson is an owner at CCM Construction Ltd. in Victoria and has been with the company for over 20 years. She started with CCM when it was just a husband and wife run business and worked her way up from accounting to become an owner. Karen has extensive experience in the construction industry, working as an accountant for various construction companies in Alberta prior to joining CCM.
     
  • Karen Jawl - Director at Jawl Properties Ltd.

    Karen Jawl is a managing director at Jawl Properties Ltd. in Victoria BC. She has been involved in real estate development, property management and golf course management throughout her career. Karen received her MBA from UBC in 2010.
     
  • Kelsey Young – GFL Environmental Inc.

    Kelsey Young is an experienced solid waste industry professional with a background in accounting and graphic design. She worked alongside her family as a commercial account representative for the Alpine Group and became the commercial account manager for Vancouver Island when Alpine transitioned to be part of the GFL Environmental team in August. In addition, she is a Director of Sky Environmental Ltd, which specializes in polarized light microscopy analysis for the identification of asbestos fibres in building materials.
