James Byrne

James is the regional managing partner for MNP, a national accounting and business advisory firm, where he leads the firm’s strategic direction and growth for five offices and more than 225 team members across Vancouver Island. Born and raised on the Island, James has a deep appreciation for the region’s unique business culture and economic drivers. Combining professional insight as a CPA with firsthand experience in operational logging and a background in engineering, James has extensive experience as a business advisor for logging contractors and other businesses in the forest industry. He serves on the City of Nanaimo Mayor’s Task Force on Recovery and Resilience and brings a broad, on-the-ground perspective of local economic conditions across the Island.
